Abstract

1513576 Electrical connector ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 23 May 1975 [25 Oct 1974] 22533/75 Heading H2E An ignition control lead connector assembly for connecting an ignition lead 13 to a distributor 1, has a plug housing 12 and a socket housing 2 so shaped that they can only be joined in a predetermined orientation so that the connectors 14 engage the contact strips 10. The socket 4 is secured by screw 4 and a bracket 25 screwed by a screw (24, Figure 2, not shown) to the distributor 1, prevents ready detachment of the plug 12. A groove (28, Figure 4, not shown) in the roof of the socket 2 receives a ridge (31, Fig. 9, not shown) of the plug 12 to ensure the predetermined orientation. In another embodiment the socket 2 is secured by a spring (35, Figs. 10 and 11, not shown) and seals (29) are provided in the socket.
