Abstract
1513065 Delay devices ICI UNITED STATES Inc 31 Aug 1976 [28 Oct 1975] 35951/76 Heading F3A An explosive actuated delay device comprises a housing 10, a primary ignition charge 12, a delay charge 13, an output charge 15, 16, and a thin conductive heat transfer disc 14 at least part of whose surface is convex and in contact with the delay and output charges. The ignition charge 12 is ignited by an electrical bridge wire 31 or by a percussive striker (not shown). Bared lead wires 32, 33 for the bridgewire are contained in a glass portion 34 of an otherwise steel closure plug 35. The output charge 15, 16 comprises lead styphnate, potassium dinitrobenzofuroxan, lead azide, barium stypnate, or a mixture of lead mononitroresorcinate and potassium chlorate Part 15 of the output charge comprises a pellet of the explosive bound with nitrocellulose binder.
