Abstract

1511613 Vulcanization press platens WAGENER & CO 10 June 1976 [18 June 1975] 24144/76 Heading B5A [Also in Division C3] A press platen for a vulcanization press for the repair of conveyer belts and for making endless belts is braced by pressure cross-beams and consists of a heating platen with stiffening ribs extruded as a one piece structural component and a cover plate, said component and plate consisting of light metal or alloy and the plate being bolted to the stiffening ribs, which are so disposed that, when the platen is in use, the ribs run substantially orthogonally to the pressure cross-beams. In Fig. 3, the press platen consists of heating platen 7 with stiffening ribs 8 and a cover plate 9, which is secured to the ribs by bolts 10. Ribs 8 have broadened rail heads 13 with flat bearing surfaces 14 for cover plate 9, which serves as a stiffening plate.
