Abstract
1507532 Multi-layer coating for mirrors W C HERAEUS GmbH 20 May 1975 [29 Aug 1974] 21653/75 Heading C7F [Also in Division G2] An infra-red reflector comprises an aluminium substrate coated, by vacuum evaporation, with the following layers in this order; an adhesion layer of Cr or Ni/Cr or Ni/Fe; a diffusion-inhibiting layer of MgF 2 ; a reflective layer of a gold alloy containing at least 95 wt per cent Au and a protective layer of SiO 2 . The gold is alloyed with Sn, Sb, Si, Ni, Ge or Cr. The thickness of layers in the embodiment are 100-1000Š; 1-2Á; 0À15-0À3Á and 1À5-3Á. respectively.
