Abstract
1523730 Evaporating secondary-emissive cermet layers MULLARD Ltd 30 Oct 1975 [13 Dec 1974] 54006/74 Heading C7F [Also in Division H1] A secondary emissive layer is formed by vapour depositing a cermet consisting of Au, Cu, Ag, Ni, Cr, Al or Ni-Cr, and an alkali metal aluminium fluoride, and optionally magnesium fluoride. The substrate may be mild steel, which may be decarburized, and coated with Ni or Ni-Cr or synthetic resin. The substrate may be pre-heated to 300‹C. The metal and fluoride may be evaporated from separate sources.
