Abstract

1507310 Stoves CANNON INDUSTRIES Ltd 13 Oct 1975 [8 Oct 1974] 43640/74 Heading F4W [Also in Division B3] The shell of a gas or electric domestic cooking oven having a front frame 3, a back panel 4 and a sheet metal wrapper 5 defining at least the top and sides of the oven which is to be lined with self-cleaning or easily-cleaned panels 10, 12, 15, 16 is made by overlying the frame 3 and back panel 4 with flanges 7 on the wrapper and crimping the parts together. A lower wrapper 6 for a warming chamber 2 is secured by rivets or screws to the top wrapper and both wrappers are fixed by folding margins of the frame 3 and panel 4 over the flanges 7 on the wrappers. Edgings 13 cover the front edges of panels 12 and have apertures for cantilevered shelf supports to engage runners 11, as described in Specification 1,391,770 to which reference is made. The shell components may be made from aluminized steel sheet. Glass fibre insulation is provided between the shell and an outer casing (not shown).
