1506872 Lift activated grippers AMERACE CORP 20 March 1975 [29 March 1974] 15988/77 Divided out of 1506871 Heading B8H [Also in Division H2] Apparatus 70 for gripping a head 46 comprises two spring 86-loaded arms 76 pivotally 78 mounted on a plate 72 slidable within a tubular member 62 of an electrically insulated "hot stick" 60, free ends of the arms comprising a hexagonal cavity 89 and a lip 92 which, in use, engage a respective wrenching surface 50 and annular recess 90 of the head 46 on retraction of the plate 72 within the member 62 by means of a slide 66, hook 68 and eye 74 causing camming surfaces 88 to engage the member 62 and close the arms about the hexagon.
