Abstract

150,683. Blickensderfer Manufacturing Co., (Assignees of Roberts, E. R.) Nov. 19, 1918, [Convention date]. Line-spacing mechanism.-The spindle 97 of the line-spacing lever 105 is mounted in a bracket 99 on the paper-carriage 55, and is provided with a finger 96 having sliding engagement in a hole 98 in a rocking plate 92 that is mounted on the platen shaft and carries a dog 91. The lever 105 is substantially horizontal when at rest and substantially vertical at the end of its stroke, and the sliding engagement between the finger 96 and the plate 92 provides for decreasing leverage on the plate as the lever 105 is raised. The dog 91 is urged towards the ratchet-wheel 90 by a spring 93, but is normally held out of engagement by a stop 95 that abuts on the tail 94 of the dog. The spacing is adjusted by means of a stop-plate 100 which can be moved laterally to bring either of two shoulders 103, 104 into the path of the pawl 91. The stop-plate is secured by means of a screw 102 passing through a slot.
