1506491 Pipe supports ETABS MOREL ATELIERS ELECTRO MECANIQUES DE FAVIERES 12 March 1975 [14 March 1974] 10389/75 Heading F2P [Also in Divisions E2 and H2] A pipe support element comprises at least one opening to receive a pipe, connecting means to connect the element to another similar but relatively inverted element to secure the pipe, and means for lateral connection of the support element to an adjacent similar element to receive a second pipe contiguous with the first and parallel thereto. In a first embodiment the support element 1 comprises a base 3 for fixing on a structure 2, a central web 4 reinforced by ribs 5 and 6 defining an arcuate opening 7 reinforced by a border 8 preferably having an inner surface convex when viewed in section to define flared portions 8a and 8b. At each side of the element adjacent the extremities of the surface 8 are located catches 11 and 12, separated by a transverse groove 9, to engage the catches of a similar support element aligned with the first element to enclose the pipe. Planar side surfaces 13 and 14 of the support element are adapted for lateral connection with similar elements in that surface 13 is in the form of a shoe provided with claws, 16, 17, 18 and 19, which retain a coupling portion in the form of projecting edges 14a, 14b of the surface 14 of an adjacent element, engagement being achieved by relative sliding of the surfaces 13 and 14. The lateral connection is locked by the location of a resiliently retractable projection 21 on the surface 14 engaging a corresponding groove 21a of the surface of the adjacent support element. An "H"-support element having two opposite openings may be used in conjunction with the "C" support element described above such that several layers of pipes may be supported (Fig. 10, not shown).
