Abstract
1504952 Spray carburetters; treating IC engine charge ETAB MANASSA 5 May 1975 [19 Nov 1974 10 Feb 1975] 18694/75 Headings F1B and F1H A mixture of fuel, air and steam is brought into contact with cerium or a compound containing cerium prior to or during combustion of the mixture in an engine. The steam from a source 9 and fuel from a source 6 may be drawn into a carburetter Venturi 2 and subsequently pass through a screen 11 comprising cerium to the intake manifold 3. The carburetter conduit 1 may have an internal coating comprising cerium. The steam may be generated in a tank (16), Fig. 2 (not shown), filled with water to a constant level by a tank (13), the generating tank having an exhaust pipe (17) or pipes extending therethrough.
