Abstract

150,361. Kiesel, O. June 9, 1917. Valves; valve-gear.-A valve a is oscillated by a cam p and has longitudinal ports l which register alternately with inlet and exhaust ports in a casing x. The inlet ports communicate with a supply pipe l, and the exhaust ports with passages i. The valve is split from its lower end to near a packing-ring o, the pressure of the gases in the cylinder serving to hold the valve to its seat. The valve may be adapted to fluid pressure engines in general.
