Abstract

1503365 Locks NEWMAN - TONKS Ltd 24 June 1976 [29 Aug 1975] 35637/75 Heading E2A The plug 17 of a cylinder lock fits into sleeve 14 of the housing 11 and is secured against axial movement into the housing by engagement of flange 19 on its end with shoulder 25 in the stepped body opening 18. After insertion the plug is secured against withdrawal by the interaction between the wedge-shaped annular projection 21 on the inside of sleeve 14 with the complementary groove 21 cut in the plug. The lock operates a latch mechanism through flat strip 23 held in diametral slit 22, cut in the plug end and held in place by ears 24 contacting the projection 20.
