Abstract

1497936 Casting machines KLUBER LUBRICATION MUNCHEN KG 8 April 1975 [9 April 1974] 14454/75 Heading B3F A die casting machine is provided with a spray device for applying a lubricating or mould-release agent to the internal surface of the opened mould, the device comprising a plurality of spray nozzles movable into the opened mould and supplied with air and spray agent under pressure from respective conduits and a mixer head movable with the nozzles and connected to the conduits directly upstream of the nozzles to supply the nozzles with a mixture of air and spray agent. The spray nozzles (26) Fig. 1 (not shown) may be attached to a spray strip 23 which is supplied with a mixture of air and spray agent by a conduit 21 connected to the mixer head (16), Fig. 4 (not shown). Air is supplied to the mixer head by a hose 8 and pipes 11 and 17 and one or more spray agents are supplied to the head by pipes 12 and 9a. An extension 28 of the pipe 11 bypasses the mixer head and supplies pure compressed air to blow nozzles (27) attached to the strip 23. The nozzles (26) and (27) Fig. 1 (not shown) are moved into and out of the mould by two pneumatic cylinders 5 whose piston rods are secured to a crosshead 10. The device is supported by a horizontal arm (3) which is vertically movable on a column (1) and is attached to the device via a turntable which enables the device to be pivoted about a horizontal axis. Operation of the pneumatic cylinders 5 is controlled by limit sensors 33 and 34, and operation of valves 29 and 30 controlling the supply of air and spray agent to the mixer head is controlled by switches 35 and 36 actuated by adjustable cams 37 and 38.
