Abstract

1497255 Plastics cap and seal ring for containers POLYTHENE DRUMS (LANCASHIRE) Ltd 3 Dec 1974 [22 Oct 1973] 49141/73 Heading B8T A resilient polyethylene cap for a container comprises an annular, interiorly-threaded skirt 13 and an inner circle of circumferentiallyspaced alternating relatively shallow arcuate ribs 14a and relatively deep lugs 14b. The annular space between the skirt and circle has a sealing ring 15 located by the ribs 14a and retained by the lugs 14b. The cap has finger recesses 12 defined by apertured projections 12a. An inner concentric skirt may be provided within the circle of lugs and ribs. Such skirt may depend from a dispensing opening in the cap upper wall and may be completely open at its bottom end, or, alternatively have an apertured bottom wall.
