Abstract

1496357 Pen - holding clips FIRTH CLEVELAND FASTENINGS Ltd 16 April 1975 [17 May 1974] 22044/74 Heading E2B A clip intended to grasp the head of a clevis pin, is illustrated in Fig. 4. It is of a general U-shape, one limb 38 having a U- shaped recess 40 cut into it and the other limb 44 having an aperture 46 over a portion of which extends a tongue 52 raised out of the plane of the limb 44. In use the shank 34 of the pin 30 is held by the recess 40 with the tongue 52 exerting an axial force on the head 32, which is held in place by being treated in the aperture 46. The clip itself is held in place by reason of the limb 38 being situated on the other side of the articles 14 and 24 from the other limb 44. If desired parts of the periphery of aperture 46 may be raised out the plane of limb 44 to surround the head 32 better.
