Abstract

1496096 Reciprocating pumps DIAMOND INTERNATIONAL CORP 29 June 1976 27084/76 Heading F1A A hand-actuated container-mounted, dispensing pump comprises a resilient diaphragm 20 formed as a dome with an integral flange 18 clamped between housing members 10, 12, the dome defining a pumping chamber 22 and being acted upon by a finger-actuated lever 26, 25, and portions of the flange 18 co-operating with inlet and outlet ports 36, 40 to function as check-valves controlling flow from a container 34 to pumping chamber 22 via dip tube 37, and from chamber 22 to an outlet 44. A container vent port 35 is opened when diaphragm 20 is flexed away from a seating surface surrounding port 35 during the discharge stroke. The diaphragm and its flange are of circular section to facilitate assembly.
