Abstract

1,100,945. Reciprocating pumps. VAPORISATEURS MARCEL FRANCK. March 18, 1965 [March 19, 1964], No.11547/65. Heading F1A. A hand-actuated atomizer pump assembly for mounting on a liquid container comprises a bucket diaphragm 8 defining a pumping chamber 1a, 7a, liquid entering via filter 18 and being delivered via passages 9a, 9, check valve 6 and spray nozzle 16, and a spring 4 biasing the diaphragm to a rest position in which communication between the pumping chamber 1a, 7a and the outlet is broken. In the embodiment shown, communication is broken by a disc 10 sealing against the diaphragm in its rest position. In another embodiment, Fig. 3 (not shown), a sleeve portion formed on the diaphragm acts to close passage 9a when in the rest position. In a further embodiment, Fig. 5 (not shown), a resilient disc is positioned to break the communication between passage 9a and pumping chamber 1a. An air inlet passage to the container, comprising clearance 11a, grooves 24, 23a and clearance 21, is also closed in the rest position.
