Abstract

PURPOSE:To make smooth the pulsating flow in a coveyed liquid flow channel and stabilize detection performance by installing a flat shaped damper flow route chamber in the conveyed liquid flow channel from a pump of small piston type to a liquid chromatography column and forming a partition in a compressed liquid chamber with a diaphragm. CONSTITUTION:In a pulsating flow prevention device 1 that is provided in the liquid coveying route to the column of a liquid chromatography from a pump of small piston type, a diaphragm made of teflon or other material is provided between a metallic cover block 3 that has a liquid inlet, liquid outlet and a recess 7 and a vessel block 3. The diaphragm 4 separates with air-tightness a compression room 11 that receives hexane or other liquid that has compressibility as large as several times the water and a bottom plug and a damper flow route chamber. With this arrangement pulsation flow from the pump is smoothed and instability in detection performance and causes of noise are removed. The device 1 is of small size and simple construction with about 80mm. in diameter and about 1mm. in depth and about 700ml capacity.
