1494873 Silo wall or silage barrier BOYS & BODEN Ltd 4 March 1976 [15 March 1975] 10905/75 Heading E1T [Also in Division Al] A silage barrier or silo wall comprises wall panels 10, having a facing 11, top and bottom rails 12, 13 terminal uprights 14 and intermediate uprights 15, supported by triangular frames 20 comprising a base 21, upright 22 and butress 23 joined together by gussets 24, 25, 26. The frames 20 having extensions 28 or 29 receiving two abutting terminal uprights 14 in abutment with the frame upright. The facing 11 may be plywood as may the gussets which may be formed by a facing over the whole of each side of the frame. Framing members of the frame and wall panels may be butted and nailed. Adjacent frames and panels may be secured together by bolts. Extensions 28, 29 may be from the gusset plates or may be separate metal brackets. A handrail may be provided above the top rail 10 for a workman standing on the bracing beam 32.
