Abstract

1494787 Securing hair-pieces M A JONES 7 April 1976 [11 April 1975] 14896/75 Heading A4V A hair-piece (or wig) has attached to it one part (14) of a two-part separable fastener, the other part 13 being for attachment to existing natural hairs 12 on the head, each part being in the form of a flexible strip which may be secured to the other strip in any selected overlapping relation. The two-part fastener may be of the hook and loop pile type, the part 13 itself comprising two strips 15, 16 which may be secured together around the existing hair by adhesive after they have been separated from a release strip 18. Staples may be used in addition to the adhesive. Channels (17) may be provided in the fastener part 13 to receive the turned-down existing hair Figs. 2 and 3 (not shown). Instead of the adhesive, the part 13 may be secured to the existing hair by stitching. The fastening arrangement may also be used to secure the hair-piece to a dummy head.
