Abstract

1,201,369. Making wigs and toupees. D. T. PERKINS and E. A. PERKINS [trading as GEORGE PERKINS EXPORT CO.]. 23 Sept., 1968 [19 Oct., 1967], No. 47629/67. Heading A4V. In a wig, hairpiece or toupÚe made of hairs 11 knotted to a net base 10, the underside of the base is coated with a spreadable but non-flowing synthetic adhesive 13 which passes through the net to bind the knots 12. A lining cloth, or cloth patches for attachment of adhesive tape to secure the wig to the head, may then be sewn to the base. Suitable adhesives are silicone rubber or polyurethane resin materials. A binding of fabric may be sewn around the edge of the base.
