Abstract
1493722 Measuring rail superelevation electrically ASEA AB 7 April 1975 [8 April 1974] 14133/75 Heading G1N(A) For sensing superelevation of the outer rail and hence track curvature a trackbound vehicle comprises differential transformers, 15, shown also in Fig. 4, mounted between the bogies 14 and body 13 on both sides of the vehicle. Displacement signals #Z, #Z 2 from a first bogie and #Z 3 , #Z 4 from a second bogie are combined by difference formers 16, 17, 18 to give a skew signal S which is employed to actuate the lateral tilting system of the body. An analogous arrangement may be used to detect the skew relationship between two axles on the same bogie.
