Abstract

1376667 Track apparatus BRITISH RAILWAYS BOARD 27 April 1973 [17 April 1972] 17612/72 Heading B7N [Also in Division H4] A train signals to a trackside transponder inductively and receives the response capacitively. The transponder is powered by its received signal, and sends positional information or other information to the train. A parallel pair of electrodes (3a, 3b, Fig. 1, not shown) fixed to the top of the transponder box co-operates capacitively with a parallel pair (4a, 4b) on the train, the latter driving a transformer which feeds the train-borne receiver.
