Abstract

1,036,198. Train position indicator. BROWN BOVERI & CO. Ltd. Sept. 11, 1964 [Sept. 14, 1963], No. 37361/64. Heading B7N. Positional information is signalled to a train as a coil 11 thereon passes over three coils 4, 5 and 6 disposed between the track rails at each trackside position A, B &c. The position is identified by supplying each track coil with one of three particular frequency signals selected from the seven different frequency signals generated in unit 1 and supplied to each trackside location via cable 2. The signals picked up by coil 11 are applied via tuned circuits 12, each tuned to one of the seven frequencies, to a decoder 13 which supplies an output indicative of the trackside position to a memory 13 or transmits it directly or on interrogation to a central station.
