Abstract

1477197 Measuring railway track level FRANZ PLASSER BAHNBAUMASCHINENINDUSTRIE GmbH 30 July 1974 [30 July 1973] 33665/74 Heading G1N [Also in Division B7] In a railway track measuring vehicle for measuring track level the vehicle is supported on two, two-axle bogies 2, 3, the first bogie carrying sensors 4, 5 for sensing variations in distance between the body of the vehicle 1 and the two axles respectively and the second bogie either carrying sensor 6 for sensing the distance between one of its axles and the body or carrying sensors 6 and 8 which sense the distance variations between the respective axles of the bogie and the body and a circuit 9 for providing the mean of the readings of sensors 6 and 8. The sensors are connected in a measuring circuit which provides an output indicating the variation in the vertical movement of the axle associated with sensor 5 with reference to a datum defined by the axles associated with sensors 4 and 6 or with sensors 4, 6 and 8. The sensors are differential inductors D1-D3 and provide signals to a bridge circuit 11 which supplies an output signal to a printer 12.
