1,270,468. Indicating condition of railway track. MATISA MATERIEL INDUSTRIEL S.A. 14 May, 1969 [15 May, 1968], No. 24462/69. Heading B7N. A measuring arrangement for checking the vertical or horizontal alignment of a railway track comprises a first sensing device 1 with wheels 6 and 9 engaging rail 7 at points A and B respectively, a second sensing device 3 with wheels 13, 14 engaging the rail at points C and D and a pair of converging members 10, 11 pivotally attached to device 1 and to a deflection responsive device 16 on the second sensing device 3. The device 16 registers the deflection of the point of convergence P (in this case point A) of the two members 10, 11 with respect to the line defined by CD. The arrangement may be duplicated for the other rail and the arrangement may be set up in the track plane to measure the horizontal alignment of the track.
