Abstract
1491569 Pipe couplings AMP Inc 18 Oct 1975 42882/75 Heading F2G [Also in Divisions H1 H2 and F4] First and second releasably mating couplings 74 each include an insulating housing 64 in which an electrical contact is mounted in a passageway and engages a similar contact of the other coupling, and a conduit 78 in which a connector 82 is mounted for engaging an identical connector in the other coupling and permit the passage of a coolant through both couplings when they are mated together. One conduit 78 of a pair of couplings 74 protrudes from its housing 64 while the other is recessed in its housing so as to form a matable pair. In the disconnected condition of the coupling the conduit 78 is closed by a spring-biased valve 94, but in the mated condition the conduit 78 is opened by the mutual interaction of valve stems 96 of the two couplings.
