Abstract

1491374 Impact pulverizers BUEHLER AG Gebr 17 Jan 1975 [21 Jan 1974] 2169/75 Heading B2A An impact pulverizer comprises a rotor wheel 3' Fig. 2 cooperating with a ring of impact members 7'. Material is fed to the mill via a hopper 8, Fig. 1 is drawn into a pipe 13 (a primary circuit) rises up the pipe 14 and is discharged via tapering ducts 5', Fig. 2 5" Fig. 4, of the centrifuging rotor wheel. The particles of material, after impact comminution against the pins 7" are entrained into the vortex with the mill housing 1, and the coarse fraction is separated towards the periphery and the fine fraction towards the centre. The fines are discharged via an outlet 15'. The coarse particles are recirculated via the tangential aperture 12 Fig. 3 and are again comminuted. The housing of the mill includes a gas pervious wall 9', and an external impervious casing 21. This permits use of the apparatus with an inert gas. The system also includes a fan 19 and cyclone 17. The riser pipe 14 of fine fraction discharge tube 15' includes a cylinder flow screen 23 to permit the fine fraction to pass to the outlet.
