Abstract
1488234 Fluorescent lamp holders CEAG LICHT - UND STROMVERSORGUNGSTECHNIK GmbH 16 March 1976 [24 March 1975] 10517/76 Heading H2E A holder for a fluorescent lamp 7 having a two pin base comprises a casing 3 of insulating material, and a rotatable insert 2 which, in conjunction with a wall of a socket surrounding the casing 3 and rigid therewith, hold the lamp in position. The insert 2 is provided with contact springs 8, for engagement by the lamp pins, which are connected to electric conductors 31, 32 mounted on the easing 3 by rotation of the insert 2, a flame-proof enclosed space 6 being provided between the casing 3 and the insert 2. As described, the insert 2 is of thermosetting synthetic resin and includes bores securely containing contact pins 5 which are electrically connected to the contact springs 8. The conductors 31, 32 are electrically connected to contact studs 4 which are axially displaceable in the casing 3 against biasing springs. The studs 4 and pins 5 make or break contact upon rotation of the insert 2, the pins 5 having a concave spherical surface for engagement by the studs 4. The lamp is laterally inserted along line AB through aligned slots 11 in the socket 1 and casing 3 and is held by the insert 2 prior to rotation through 90 degrees to make contact with the conductors 31, 32.
