Abstract

1486348 Supporting and driving a spindle; Winding arrangement with stop motion HAMEL GmbH ZWIRNMASCHINEN 8 Oct 1975 [7 Nov 1974] 41165/75 Headings D1D and D1J A spindle 22 is mounted on a swivel arm 18 which is pivoted about an axis parallel to the spindle. The swivel arm being movable to engage or disengage a whorle 24 on the spindle with a tangential drive belt 28, a telescopic thrust arm 52 being provided to hold the arm in the engaged position and a power device 70, 72 being provided to move the telescopic thrust arm over centre. The power device may be rotating or traction electromagnet, or a hydraulic or pneumatic piston/cylinder unit. The spindle is moved by a lever arm 58 which carries rollers 42, 42' engaging a guide surface in a fixed ring member 12. A spring 26 presses whorle 24 into contact with drive belt 28. Movement of the swivel arm may be initiated by a stop motion, either a tension sensor 94 or a full package sensor 92, Fig. 4. Additionally tension sensor 94 operates a separating plate 97 which is inserted between a winding package 82 and its friction drive roller 88. This is also operated by the full package sensor 92 together with a yarn cutter 100.
