Abstract

1367283 Continuous winding VYZKUMNY USTAV BAVLNARSKY 20 Feb 1973 [21 Feb 1972] 8233/73 Heading D1J A continuous winding method in which the package 2 being wound is driven by a friction drive drum 1, Fig. 1, is characterized in that the new empty bobbin 2" is forced by a linkwork mechanism between the full bobbin 2', Fig. 2, and the driving drum 1 thus interrupting the direct contact of the full bobbin 2' with the drive drum 1 and causing the full bobbin 2' to reverse its direction of rotation. Continued motion of the linkwork, shown in heavy black lines, causes a roller 30 to move between the empty bobbin 2" and the full bobbin 2' to lift the full bobbin up and deposit it on a pair of beams 10, only one of which is shown in Fig. 1. The full bobbin 2' is normally carried by a cradle comprising a pair of arms 4. As the full bobbin 2' is raised by the roller 30 a pair of deflector plates 33 at the upper end of bars 32 force the arms 4 apart to release them from the full bobbin 2'. The arms 4 swing downwardly and strike two lower deflector plates 33 that again space the arms 4 apart in a manner permitting them to grip the empty bobbin 2". The apparatus of the invention is only in position at a particular winding unit when bobbin exchange is required. The yarn 3 starts to be wound at the contact place of the driving drum 1 with the empty bobbin 2". At the contact place of the empty bobbin 2" with the full bobbin 2' a part of the yarn freshly wound on this bobbin 2' is again wound off. This released yarn forms a loop which is immediately entrained between the drum 1 and the empty bobbin 2" to break the yarn between the empty and the full bobbin. The apparatus disclosed may be carried by a carriage 9 mounted on rollers 7, 8 moved along a guideway 6.
