Abstract

1485628 Respiratory appliances I V PRESSURE CONTROLLERS Ltd 4 Dec 1974 [6 Sept 1973] 42067/73 Heading A5T [Also in Division F2] A valve assembly which may be used to regulate an oxygen supply to a diving mouthpiece comprises inlet and outlet connections 2, 3 in a body 1 between which are, in series, a pressure reducing valve 4 and an orifice 5, there being a by-pass 6 across both the reducing valve and orifice in which a valve 8 is operable independently of the reducing valve. As shown the poppets 7, 8 are spring loaded to closure. Poppet 7 is acted on by a spring 11 through a piston 10 and a pin 9 while outlet air pressure acts on the piston against the spring 11. Poppet 8 is manually operable by a knob 13. A course screw thread 16 provides for compression of spring 11 by rotation of the cap 15 which is grooved to receive a trip lever 17 or a spring loaded plunger (not shown). A stop valve (not shown) may be inserted in series with the pressure reduced. Filters 5' are situated upstream and downstream of the orifice restrictor.
