Abstract

The flow valve has a pressure-operated control plunger. The valve consists of housing (10) with an inlet (12), lateral bore (14) and outlet (16). The outlet channel (16) contains an adjustable throttle (18), and the lateral bore (14) contains the automatic pressure regulating spindle (20) fitted at one end with a shoulder (22) which serves as a piston as well as a throttle for controlling the flow rate. At the other end, the pressure regulating spindle is fitted with a plunger (24), the end face of which is in connection with a bypass channel (26). The end face is subject to the pressure in channel (16) downstream of the adjustable throttle (18) and the plunger (24) is loaded by a spring (28). The throttle (18) is set to giv a reduced flow quantity through the channel (16) which results in considerable leakage flow from the inlet (12) via a groove on the edge of the plunger (24) into the bypass (26) which enters the outlet channel (16) in addition to flow passing the throttles (20,18).
