1484868 Photographic film having antistatic layer IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 28 Jan 1975 [21 Feb 1974] 7872/74 Heading G2C Photographic film comprises a synthetic plastics support e.g. of polyethylene terephthalate having on one side a radiation-sensitive layer e.g. a lightsensitive silver halide emulsion layer and on the other side an antistatic layer comprising a copolymer containing units of the Formula: where R is H or CH 3 R<SP>1</SP> is CH 3 or C 2 H 5 , R<SP>2</SP> and R<SP>3</SP> are each CH 3 or C 2 H 5 or together are -CH 2 CH 2 OCH 2 CH 2 - or -(CH 2 ) n - where n is 4, 5 or 6, A is alkylene or substituted alkylene and X- is a chloride or acetate ion, and units derived from styrene, methyl methacrylate, methyl acrylate, ethyl acrylate, butylacrylate, 2-ethylhexyl acrylate, acrylonitrile, vinyl toluene, vinyl acetate, #-ethoxyethyl methacrylate, #-hydroxyethyl methacrylate, ethylene glycol dimethacrylate, acrylamide, diacetone acrylamide, ethylene, propylene or divinyl benzene, said copolymer having an average molecular weight in the range 5,000 to 2,000,000.
