Abstract

1396271 Electro-photographic materials; anti-static layers for photographic materials AGFA-GEVAERT 9 Jan 1973 [17 Jan 1972] 2134/72 Heading G2C [Also in Division C3] Recording material for use in photographic and electro-photographic processes, comprises a support of paper or a synthetic polymer having an electro-conductive layer consisting of or comprising a water-soluble polymer having the Formula where R is an alkylene group having up to 4 carbon atoms, R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP> and R<SP>3</SP> are alkyl groups having up to 4 carbon atoms, cycloalkyl groups or aralkyl groups or R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP> and R<SP>3</SP> together with the nitrogen atom represent a heterocyclic amine group, X is an anion, A is a single bond or a group of Formula:- where R<SP>4</SP> is hydrogen or a group of Formula:- In examples 12, 13 and 15 the polymers are coated on paper, glassine and polyethylene terephthalate to form electro-conductive layers on which layers of photo-conductive materials e.g. Zno in vinyl acetate/dibutyl maleate or vinyl stearate copolymer, are applied to form electro-photographic materials. The electroconductive layer may be used as an anti-static layer in photographic silver halide materials.
