989, 891. Anti-foggants for silver halide materials. GENERAL ANILINE & FILM CORPORATION. Jan. 3, 1962 [Jan. 19,1961], No. 274/62. Heading G2C. Light-sensitive silver halide materials are developed in the presence of anti-foggants which are the iodine complexes of polymers of the formula: - wherein R is hydrogen or an alkyl group of 1-4 carbon atoms and n is an integer which gives the polymer a high molecular weight, e.g. an average molecular weight of 150,000. The anti-foggants may be added to the silver halide emulsion or an adjacent layer or used in a processing solution.
