Abstract

1317907 Coated film; wax dispersions EASTMAN KODAK CO 3 April 1970 [8 April 1969 23 Dec 1969] 15833/70 Headings B1V and B2E [Also in Divisions C2 C3 and G2] A photographic support comprises a base carrying a layer of an antistatic composition containing a potassium, rubidium or caesium salt of an alkyl, aryl or alkylaryl phosphoric acid mono- or di-ester in which the alkyl groups have 8-22 carbon atoms. The ester salt may contain octyl, cetyl or phenyl groups. The antistatic composition may contain a binder e.g. a wax such as carnauba wax (Examples 34 to 39), or a polymer such as a hydroxyalkyl cellulose, polyvinyl alcohol, polyvinyl butyral or a terpolymer of methyl acrylate, vinylidene chloride, and itaconic acid. The binder may be alkali soluble. The base may be cellulose triacetate, polyethylene terephthalate, polystyrene, a vinyl polymer, a polyolefin film or paper coated with a polyolefin layer.
