Abstract

1483656 Alarm watches TIMEX CORP 13 Dec 1974 [20 Feb 1974] 54085/74 Heading G3T [Also in Division H1] An electric alarm watch includes a switch 11 whereby the alarm circuit is closed when the bottom surface of the hour hand 16 contacts an alarm set spring 19 extending from an alarm time set ring 28 into the path of the tip 33 of the hour hand which is guided under the inner periphery of the set ring 28 to ensure good contact closure with the bent-up end 32 of spring 19, the set ring 28 having a flange portion (39), Fig. 4 (not shown) provided with gear teeth 41 for meshing with a pinion 46 on shaft 43 of stem 42. The spring 19 has a portion 65 extending circumferentially beneath the set ring 28 and making continuous contact with a fixed member 56 which in turn engages a spring contact blade (53), Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown) in the circuit of a conventional alarm or buzzer. When stem 42 is pushed into the innermost of its three axial positions an enlarged portion 47 depresses the tip of the blade (53) and opens the alarm circuit. Set ring 28 may be of transparent plastics material, with knurled areas 29 and 31 which obscure visibility into the watch.
