Abstract

1392993 Time switches CITIZEN WATCH CO Ltd 12 July 1972 [15 July 1971] 32465/72 Heading H1N [Also in Division G3] An alarm timepiece may be set to energize an electrical alarm, e.g. buzzer 16, at a number of independently presettable times by means of a stationary contact ring 5 with spring contact arms 5a, the tip 5c of each arm normally lying below an insulating, rotary switch disc 3 but being able to be preset to a position above the disc where it may be engaged by a moving contact 3b thereon to sound the alarm. After such engagement the contact arms, which are resilient, return to their normal positions through a notch 3c in the disc 3. Setting of the contact arms is done by a pawl 6a carried on a ring 6 which is rotatable by means of a pinion 14 on an arbor 10a, a second pinion 15 on the arbor simultaneously rotating an indicator ring 19 so that a mark 9a aligned with the pawl shows the alarm time being set. When this time is thus reached by turning crown 12, the crown is pressed which causes slight rotation and axial displacement of a cam ring 7 to actuate the pawl 6a and set the selected contact arm. Various forms of the contact arms are described, permitting the user to see which arms have been preset.
