Abstract

Date cursor (8) is advanced automatically by the watch mechanism to point to current date on ring (2) carrying day numbers 1 31, and is manually settable by rotary knob (9) which also serves to set hour (5) and minute (6) hands. Date ring (2) is manually rotatable to bring a specific future date to e.g. 12 o'clock, by pressing knob (26) which pushes a spring loaded vee-shaped actuator against the flank of a gear tooth at the periphery of the date ring and moves it 1/2 day anticlockwise; a spring loaded detent engaging a different part of the gear periphery secures the date ring in position at 1/2 day increments. Thus, two presses of knob (26) will advance the date ring by one day. Date cursor (8) is then reset to point to current date.
