Abstract
1481285 Centrifugal strainer MOULINEX SA 17 April 1975 [13 May 1974] 15942/75 Heading BID [Also in Divisions F2 and F4] A domestic centrifugal strainer, for drying lettuce, comprises a housing 10 enclosing a perforated frusto-conical basket 14 rotatable about lower pivot 16 by a handle 22 and gear assembly in the housing lid 12, the basket having an annular collar 26 removably mounted on flange 28 around its open top, collar 26 having round its inner periphery a ring of cavities (44) which are engaged by studs 42 depending from the outer ends of the arms 34 of a spider which makes a driving connection between the basket and the gear assembly. The spider is integral with a pinion 36 of the assembly, and its arms are of Y section along their inner parts and inverted V section along their outer parts. The outer parts present inclined edges 70 which cooperate with inclined shoulder 64 of collar 26 to guide the spider to a symmetrical position with studs 42 engaging in cavities (44) when lid 12 is placed on housing 10. All parts are of plastics Fig. 9 shows resilient studs 30 on collar 26 engaging in square holes 32 in flange 28 on basket 14, to hold the collar thereon.
