Abstract

916,845. Rinsing-machines. LICENTIA PATENT - VERWALTUNGS - G.m.b.H. April 8, 1960 [April 16, 1959], No. 12560/60. Class 138 (2). [Also in Group XIII] A disc-shaped polyethylene cover member 6, Figs. 1 and 2, for engaging under the upper edge 8 of a spin-drier drum 1, is formed of intersecting lattice bars 9 of trapezoidal crosssection enclosed by a ring 10 of similar crosssection, and provided with a central ring 12. The cover when in position prevents washing 2 from being thrown over the edge 8 during spinning. The narrow side of the trapezoidal cross-section is directed upwards and the ring 12 fits around a central vertical spray tube 3 in the drum. When the spin-drier is used for rinsing, liquid supplied from a pipe 4 is spread over the opening of the drum by a funnel 5 and the bars cause the liquid to be distributed substantially uniformally over the upper opening of the drum, whilst the tube 3 sprays-out liquid.
