Abstract

CONSTITUTION: A large number of radial dents 8 are provided on the opposite surface 7 to the sliding surface of the shaft seal at a seal lip 1. A large number of loop dents 9 crossing the dents 8 are also provided on the surface 7. Within the seal lip, the diameter is easily subject to be changed, because the surface 7 of the seal lip 1 has a large number of radial dents 8 as described above and further to be curved radially, because the surface 7 has a large number of loop dents 9. As the result the seal lip 1 has an exceedingly large flexibility.
