Abstract

1481200 Writing appliances N A ZEPELL 8 Nov 1974 [20 Nov 1973] 48384/74 Heading B6P Two ball-point refills 114, 116 (or other writing instruments) are contained in a flatsection, tapered body with a single point opening, through which either refill can be made to protrude by action of a protruding manually operated actuating means 162, 162<SP>1</SP>. Each actuating means slides in a slot in the body edge. The refills are locked by spring-loaded pawls 164, 164<SP>1</SP>, which co-operate with the actuating means so that an advanced refill is locked by the pawl of the other. Inward movement of the actuating means 162<SP>1</SP>, to unlock it before advancing its refill, withdraws pawl 164<SP>1</SP> from actuating means 162, and allows spring 166 to retract it.
