Abstract

1479588 Gas carburetters H C BATE 21 Nov 1974 [31 Aug 1973] 41104/73 Heading F1B When it is desired to switch an I.C. engine from petrol to bottled gas operation, the petrol tap 9 is closed and the gas tap 8 opened to enable gas to flow from container 7 via metal piping 6, valve assembly 5 and flexible piping 4 to issue into the carburetter Venturi 2 through a nozzle 1 having its end cut at 45‹. Valve assembly 5 controls gas flow in response to engine intake suction by means of a diaphragm 14 acting via lever 15 on a gas valve plunger 16. The diaphragm loading spring 13 can be adjusted by nuts 12.
