Abstract

1479135 Portable endless conveyers GKN BOLTS & NUTS Ltd 21 June 1974 [21 March 1973] 13501/73 Heading B8A An endless conveyer for removing swarf from a machine tool (not shown), comprises scraper flights 36 which operate in a V cross-section trough 10. Each flight is connected to an endless roller chain 31 by an arm 32 in such a way that it can be adjusted horizontally and vertically relative to the arm 32 and the trough 10. The sprockets of the chain are mounted on a a channel shaped support member 27 which extends parallel to, but to one side of, the trough 10. The runs of the chain are supported, in between the upper and lower sprockets by a plate 30, bolted at 50 via a spacing tube (Fig. 4, not shown) to the member 27. A motor 40 drives the upper sprocket through a torquelimiting device. The inclination of the conveyer may be adjusted by telescopic members 21, 22, set by an adjustment screw 23. Feet 24 may be lowered during operation of the conveyer.
