Abstract

1,094,513. Endless conveyers. L. G. DUBUIT Jan. 11, 1966 [Oct. 26, 1965], No. 1192/66. Heading B8A. [Also in Division B6] Open-ended cans 3 are supported by horizontal rods 2 extending laterally at equal intervals from a conveyer chain 1 which transports the cans from an enamelling-machine, through a printing station, and thence along a path allowing the print to dry. The chain is continuously driven by sprockets 4, 5, has a looping device comprising sprockets 30, 32 mounted on a centrally pivoted arm 34, and is intermittently driven by a sprocket 24, whereby each can comes to rest in printing position below a reciprocable printing-screen 27. In printing position, a pneumatically-operated jack 50 is moved so as to cause pointed rollers 44, 45 to engage a can and move its lower end up pointed rollers 39, 40 so as to be engaged by a rotating support 38. A lever 52 disengages dogclutches so as to stop the printing-machine and the intermittent chain feed, as for inking the screen. A sprocket 26 on an arm 28 is adjustable by a screw 29 according to the diameter of the can.
