Abstract

1,081,475. Bottle washing machines; endless conveyers. HOLSTEIN & KAPPERT MASCHINENFABRIK PHOENIX G.m.b.H. June 28, 1965 [June 27, 1964], No. 27245/65. Headings B8A and B8T. A feed mechanism for supplying bottles 1 to the continuously rotating compartments 6 of a bottle washing machine includes a table 2 manually supplied with the bottles which are then conveyed via a roller 3 to a slide track 4 over which the bottles are fed to a further slidetrack 5 by a pair of spaced chains 10 interconnected by rods 11. The track 5 is pivoted at its bottle receiving end and its bottle delivery end is connected to a pair of spaced levers 14 pivoted at 16 and oscillated by cam discs 13 driven by a shaft 8. The latter also drives the chains via sprockets 9, and the arrangement is such that the track 5 is oscillated about its pivoted end, and when a bottle thereon is aligned with a compartment 6, with the compartment and track moving upwardly, it is pushed into it by a chain rod 11. Conveyer chain guide rollers 12 are located at the corners of spaced side plates 7 mounted on the shaft 8, between which plates the tracks 4 and 5 are positioned. In a modified construction side plates 7 are not used and the conveyer chains are tensioned by interconnecting top and bottom guide rollers by a rigid rod.
