Abstract
1479583 Endless chains conveyers GKN BOLTS & NUTS Ltd 21 June 1974 [21 March 1973] 13502/73 Heading B8A A conveyer for nuts and bolts, but which can also be used for material, comprises a chain 30 carrying V-shaped pushers 32 along the base of an inclined V-cross-section trough 10. The trough 10 is supported by the base of a channel cross-section frame member 14. The latter, and the base of the trough 10 are slotted at each end to receive a projecting-up portion of the respective return sprocket. A drive motor 49, reduction gear 48, and torque limiter 47, for driving the chain 30, are carried by one of two side plates 45. Each of the latter are bolted to side flanges of an inverted channel member (46) (Fig. 4, not shown) itself bolted to the base of the channel 14. The return sprocket at the lower end of the conveyer is mounted on a shaft 36, bearings 37 of which are mounted in members having slides 38 (Fig. 2) for adjustment of tension of the chain 30 by a screw means 40. The inclination of the conveyer is adjustable by telescopic legs 22, 23. Casters 26 may be immobilized by retractable feet 26. A pivoted plate 33 prevents nuts and bolts fed to the trough, from falling out at the bottom of the latter. The plate 33 is lifted by each pusher 32 is passed round the return sprocket and into the trough.
