Abstract

1477915 Knitting machine stop motions TRIP-LITE Ltd 7 Aug 1975 [9 Oct 1974] 43652/74 Heading D1C A yarn fault dectector controlling a stop motion, comprises one or more detector wires 8 for actuating the motion relay, a pair of yarn guides 6 on a pivotable frame 7 which is biassed to the yarn guiding position shown in continuous lines in Fig. 1 but movable by excessive tension to the yarn releasing position shown in broken lines in Fig. 1, and a rockable stop bar 10 contacted by the guides 6 in their operative position, the rocking axis lying between the points of contact of the bar and guides. Frame 7 is biassed by a, spring 31, Fig. 3 adjustable by turning knob 9 having a detent locking arrangement 27, 30, the spring acting on a crank 32 such that the frame moves over-centre to release the yarn when tension rises to a suffiicient level. A lamp in housing 2 is lit when the yarn is released. If the yarn breaks, wires 8 drop. Specification 1477916 is referred to.
